What we collect

Nothing. ZapKeep does not collect personally identifiable information, browsing history, page content, location, or any other user data. We do not use analytics, tracking, or telemetry of any kind.

Data stored on your device

ZapKeep saves your information locally on your own device, using the browser's built-in local storage. This never leaves your browser and is never sent to us or anyone else. It consists only of:

• Saved sessions — the titles and URLs of tabs you choose to save into named sessions, so they can be restored later.
• Settings — your preferences, such as whether auto-suspend is enabled and the inactivity timer you selected.
• Never-suspend list — the websites you have chosen to exclude from suspension.
• Tab activity times — a temporary record of when each open tab was last active, used only to decide when to auto-suspend. This is not retained after tabs are closed.

You can clear this at any time by removing the extension or clearing your browser's extension data. You can also export your saved sessions to a file at any time — that file is created locally and saved wherever you choose.

How your tab data is used

To save, search, suspend, and restore tabs, ZapKeep reads the titles and URLs of your open tabs locally and only when needed. This information is used solely to provide those features and is stored only in your browser's local storage. It is never logged, transmitted, or shared. ZapKeep does not read, access, or process the content of the web pages you visit.

Permissions

ZapKeep requests only the permissions required for its features:

• tabs — to read tab titles and URLs so they can be saved, searched, suspended, and restored.
• storage — to save your sessions, settings, and never-suspend list locally on your device.
• alarms — to periodically check which tabs have been inactive long enough to auto-suspend.

ZapKeep requests no host permissions and does not access the content of the pages you visit.

Donations

Supporting ZapKeep is entirely optional. If you choose to donate, the "Support this project" link opens a checkout page hosted by our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) in a new browser tab. Any payment information you enter is handled directly by that provider on their own page — ZapKeep never sees, receives, or stores any payment details.

Third parties

We do not sell or transfer any user data to third parties. ZapKeep runs entirely on your device and integrates with no external services, analytics, or tracking of any kind.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised "last updated" date.
